Am 17.05.2019 wird im Archiv der Jugendkulturen im Rahmen des #QueerHistoryMonth ein Empowerment Voguing Workshop mit AriGato Melody aka LaQuéfa Arise veranstaltet.
Der Voguing Workshop richtet sich an BPOC Kinder ab 8 Jahre bis junge Erwachsene. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht notwendig. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos. Anmeldung unter diversitybox@jugendkulturen.de
Empowerment through Dancing!
Voguing ist nicht erst seit der Serie „Pose“ besonders in das öffentliche Interesse gerückt. Schon die großartige Dokumentation „Paris is Burning“ Ende der 1980er gab faszinierende Einblicke in die Vielfalt der us-amerikanischen queerer BPOC Voguing-Community.
Berlin hat seit Jahren eine diverse Community im Bereich Voguing und Ariclenes ist seit mehreren Jahren in der Queer Voguing Szene bekannt. Ariclenes ist in der Crew „The House of Melody“ aktiv, hat ein eigenes Danceproject mit dem Namen FutureV gegründet und gibt regelmäßig Workshops mit queeren Geflüchteten.
Biography Ariclenes Agostinho Garcia (Arigato Melody)
My name is Ariclenes Agostinho Garcia (Arigato Melody) I am 25 years old and have lived in Berlin for 16 years. I was born and raised in Angola, where I started to dance. In the beginning, I just enjoyed myself dancing and learning new moves. When I moved to Germany, I didn’t have so much time to dance. After a while, when I was 12 years old, I met a dance group and started to train with them in an intense way. We were eight people with different backgrounds, as for culture, skin colour and dance experience. I am also in a dancecrew The House of Melody and I have also my own danceproject called FutureV there I teach Queere Refugees voguing and howto express themselves. From the FutureV crew I create my own kiki house „Kiki house of Arise“.
