Culture jamming against the war, traumatic amnesia and notes on despair: attendees read passages from the Anti-War Zine by Bianca Ortiz and others on the U.S. invasion on Iraq in 2003. We end the session by reflecting in writing on queer love and human rights in times of warfare.

With the two-part workshop „Writing the Archive #2“, we are building on the workshop „Writing and Sounding the Archive,“ which took place in September 2023 at Spinnboden Lesbian Archive & Library as part of the project „Lesbisch-queere Geschichte goes Mitte – Erinnerung aus intersektionaler Perspektive.“ In the respective reading and writing workshops, we will engage with BIPoC and Jewish coalitions of the 1990s as well as queer love and human rights in times of war, using archive materials to explore our thoughts, feelings and experiences in written form. Facilitated by Wassan Ali.

Prior knowledge is not required, interest is sufficient.

Due to the source material, the workshop will be held mainly in English.

The workshop is open to all queer people, explicitly including those who do not identify as lesbian.

There will be snacks.
